5 Tips From Stagers Can Help You Sell More Quickly

Making sure that a house is ready for potential buyers is important. You need to make sure that the house is not only clean, but it looks exactly how buyers want to see it. Because of this, you may need to take a few tips from the pros—stagers know exactly what to do to get your homes sold quickly.

Don’t Get Hung up on the Personal

Having personal touches in a home when you are living there is great. However, when you are trying to sell a home, it is crucial to get rid of all personal touches. The more neutral the home looks, the more people will be able to imagine their own things in it. Pictures from kids that hang on the fridge are cute, but they detract from the benefits of the home itself.

Consider the Senses

When potential buyers walk into a home, greet a variety of their senses. Make sure that the home not only looks good, but it smells good, as well. There are a few ways to ensure that these things are accomplished. First, make sure there is as much natural light as possible. This will help enhance the look of the home. Additionally, consider the smell of the home. Open doors and windows to air it out, bake cookies, or even simply light a few candles before buyers arrive to help enhance the home.

Check the Furniture

Make sure that all furniture in the home has a clear purpose. If it does not, store it for the time being. Too much stuff in the house makes it look cluttered and small. However, if you ensure that the furniture used fits well in the room, and it looks good, it will help enhance the look of the room. Additionally, make sure that the positioning of all furniture makes sense. It doesn’t work well to have a couch in the master bedroom, for example. This simply doesn’t make sense in how we generally see and use rooms. When checking the furniture, don’t forget to make sure that it is neutral in both color and style.

Clean

It may seem obvious at first, but make sure that the home is clean. This means more than just the basic cleaning that is done regularly. Of course, you need to make sure that there is nothing on the floors and counters, vacuum, and make sure everything is spotless. But it may also be worth it to clean the vents, scrub the walls, and make sure that things like windowsills are dust-free. This ensures that no matter what buyers look at, they find it perfectly clean.

Beautiful Inside and Out

The first thing that buyers will see is the yard and outside of the home. It is crucial to make sure that these look great. If you can’t afford to get a landscaper in, at the very least, ensure that the lawn is mowed, snow is shoveled, leaves are raked, etc. Make sure that the outside of the home looks appealing and inviting; there should not be cracked windows, broken panels, etc.

Making a home sellable is as important as the act of selling it. Take the time to prep the house before buyers show up, and you will sell the home more quickly.
